Dulles Greenway Marks Its 25th Anniversary

LoudounNow reports, the Dulles Greenway, which opened to traffic on September 29, 1995, is the first private toll road built in Virginia since 1816. “Under the leadership of new TRIP II CEO Renée N. Hamilton,” the article notes, “the company this month is launching a yearlong celebration focused on engagement with, and re-investment in, the community.” Among other things, it plans to host a May 2021 “Run the Greenway” fundraising event, and it is working with the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy to expand environmental sustainability programming.

THEA Wins Marketing Award For Selmon Extension Project B2B Campaign

The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) announced that it received the 2020 Marketer of the Year in B2B Marketing award from the American Marketing Association’s Tampa Bay chapter. The AMA recognized a THEA team led by Susan Chrzan for creating innovative and effective programs that involved Gandy corridor businesses and residents in project planning and identified ways to minimize commercial and traffic disruptions during construction. It’s noted that THEA is the first transportation agency to win the chapter’s award for B2B marketing.
