Georgia City Seeks SRTA Grant For Corridor Improvement Project

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports, the City of Roswell, Georgia, wants to make $50 million in safety improvements to a crash-prone, reversible-lane corridor that saw 23 head-on collisions over a recent four-year period. It has already secured some state and local funding, but is asking the State Road and Tollway Authority to approve a $2 million infrastructure bank grant to cover a local match condition for obtaining part of the external funding. If approved, the grant “would preserve Transportation Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (TSPLOST) funds currently budgeted for part of the road work.”
