Duluth, GA, May 3, 2024 – Kapsch TrafficCom is proud to announce that 2024 marks the 30th anniversary of the proven partnership with E-ZPass Group to provide transponders for barrier-free tolling. The cooperation is set to continue until at least 2032.

JB Kendrick, EVP North America at Kapsch TrafficCom, comments on the milestone: “I greatly appreciate our cooperation with the E-ZPass Group. As the proven partnership enters its fourth decade, I am proud that we have delivered more than 100 million transponders so far. With our technology, we ensure that group agencies can reliably and efficiently collect the appropriate toll fee and support the country’s infrastructure.”

The transponders by Kapsch TrafficCom are used by agencies across the US. The most popular transponder is the G5, which has a battery life of up to 10 years, performs at speeds of up to 100 mph and provides the option to share individual units between multiple vehicles.

Various types of transponders can be installed inside or outside the car, come in multiple form factors and are designed for both lane-based and open road toll collection environments at highest performance levels. With thousands of toll lanes across the country, the Kapsch TrafficCom equipment ensures stable revenue collection.

Kapsch TrafficCom will be showcasing its technologies at this year’s IBTTA Technology Summit in Atlanta, Georgia from May 4 to May 7.
