West Virginia Turnpike Users Are Sticking With Single-Fee Annual Pass Program

MetroNews reports, the price of enrollment in the West Virginia Turnpike “Single Fee Discount” program is going up starting in 2022, but that apparently hasn’t deterred customers from renewing. When the unique E-ZPass program was launched in 2018, 180,000 motorists took advantage of a special offer that afforded them three years’ unlimited use of the state turnpike for $24.00. Beginning next year, the cost of a 12-month enrollment goes up to $26.25.

United Bridge Partners Subsidiary Begins Work On Michigan Bridge Upgrade

WJRT reports, Bay City Partners (BCP), which launched “heavy construction” on the Liberty Bridge restoration project this week, expects to complete work and initiate tolling operations by late next year. Under its development and acquisition agreements with Bay City, Michigan, BCP can begin electronic tolling of non-residents who use the bridge when its overhaul is completed. (City residents are exempt from paying tolls for five years.) BCP plans to hire a general manager and open a toll system office soon. Meanwhile, the firm — a United Bridge Partners subsidiary — is continuing to work on the design of a replacement for another Bay City bridge.
