TransCore Chosen To Install New Jersey Turnpike Authority's AET System

According to the agenda for tomorrow’s meeting of the New Jersey Turnpike Authority (NJTA) board, staff will request authorization to award TransCore a contract to design, develop, install and test a comprehensive, turnkey AET system for the turnpike and the Garden State Parkway, as well as to host, operate and maintain the system over an extendable term of eight years. Last Thursday, the South Jersey Transportation Authority, operator of the Atlantic City Expressway, awarded a similar contract to TransCore at the conclusion of an RFP process in which NJTA participated and under the terms of which NJTA is permitted to contract with SJTA’s awardee. A memorandum to the board attached to tomorrow’s agenda at PDF pages 96-99 discusses the RFP evaluation process; lists the base and optional services TransCore will provide; details the final not-to-exceed contract price of f $914,058,630; and requests that NJTA management be authorized to issue future notices to proceed for optional services.

Otay Mesa Project Is A Major Investment In US-Mexico Border Infrastructure

West Virginia Turnpike Spill Still Deprives Three Dozen Homes Of Water

MetroNews reports, it’s been a month since a West Virginia Turnpike truck crash resulted in a chemical, alkyl dimethylamine, spilling into an adjacent creek and causing a fish kill. Although local and state officials are conducting a health and environment assessment, the chair of the county commission wants testing of a creek and nearby residential wells increased. Thirty-six homes are still cut off from their normal source of water.

Salik IPO Was Oversubscribed By Almost 50 Times

Bloomberg reports, Salik, the Dubai government controlled toll road system, “drew $50 billion in orders for its initial public offering, underscoring the high demand for Middle Eastern deals despite a worsening backdrop for the global economy. The government sold 1.87 billion shares . . . at 2 dirhams each, raising $1 billion, according to a statement on Thursday {September 22]. The offer price implies a market capitalization of $4.1 billion for the firm, which starts trading on Sept. 29.”
