Referenda Votes Indicate Strong Public Support For Transportation Spending

The American Road and Transportation Builders Association (ARTBA) is tracking the results of November 8 state and local ballot initiatives on transportation funding. According to early results compiled by the association’s Transportation Investment Advocacy Center, 88 percent of the 380 measures placed before voters in 18 states were approved, and votes on 23 other initiatives are still being counted. The center reckons that the successful measures will generate $20 billion for transportation improvement projects. ARTBA notes that the approval rate this year is slightly higher than the historical average determined by the center going back to 2010.

“Land Line” Magazine reports on the results of voting on some “notable” state and local initiatives.
