Indiana Bill Proposes Automated Work Zone Speed Enforcement Pilot

Indiana House Bill 1035 was approved this week by the House Roads and Transportation Committee. If enacted, the measure would initiate an automated work zone speed enforcement pilot program targeting active work zones on freeways and expressways, and on controlled access highways where the normal speed limit exceeds 45 miles per hour. The pilot would be conducted by the state police and Indiana DOT.

TheStateHouseFile.com reports on committee testimony and debate over the bill, which authorizes the issuance of a warning notice in the first instance and the imposition of a fine for subsequent speeding violations.
