Kansas Turnpike Will Open More New ORT Lanes Today

The Kansas Turnpike Authority announced that new open-road toll lanes at its converted Southern Terminal toll plaza (I-35 mile marker 17) will open to traffic this afternoon, weather permitting. Although KTA will continue to accept cash payments at Southern Terminal, electronic toll payers will be able to drive through and pay while maintaining highway speed.

North Tarrant Express Bonds Come to Market Today

The Bond Buyer reports, “In one of the largest Texas deals of 2019, the North Tarrant Express Mobility Partners will price $1.2 billion of taxable and tax-exempt refunding bonds [today]. Coming to market through the conduit Texas Private Activity Bond Surface Transportation Corp., the bonds will have two tranches bearing senior liens, one tax-exempt and the other taxable.” The article notes that the new bonds should benefit from recently announced ratings upgrades.
