Locals Foresee Ontario Tollway Extension Leading to Economic Growth
Toronto Star reports on expectations that “Ontario’s newest highway extension,” a 14-kilometer (8.7-mile) addition to the Highway 407 tollway, will boost economic development in a rural area by improving access to and from the Greater Toronto Area.

WUSA, prompted by a viewer’s inquiry, looks at the procedures Transurban and the Virginia State Police follow within the metro DC express lanes network to implement a statutory toll exemption for officers traveling in the performance of their duties. Transurban spokesman Mike McGurk tells WUSA the exemption does not apply when officers commute to and from work.
