E-470 Waives $546,000 in Compensation for Traffic Detour Caused by I-25 Crash

KUSA reports that the E-470 Public Highway Authority is not going to charge the state for the revenue lost when it suspended tolling during a 16-hour traffic detour earlier this year. The Colorado Department of Transportation will only have to reimburse the operating expenses of about $6,500 E-470 incurred while traffic was detoured from I-25 following “a fiery tanker crash in late May. The Transportation Commission accepted E-470’s proposal to waive the $546,703 accrued in tolls” during the Denver incident.
