Some Suburban Portland Officials Express Doubts About I-205 Tolling

Tigard Tualatin Times reports, some officials in Portland’s southwest suburbs are skeptical of Oregon DOT’s I-205 tolling proposal or dubious that it will relieve congestion across the entire metro area. In addition to summarizing concerns, the article notes that a policy analyst for the City of Tualatin reportedly told his council members that ODOT’s study is one of the country’s first serious attempts to examine toll equity and racial equity, in particular. ODOT is still accepting public comment on the project through September 16.
