New Park Opens At San Francisco Bay Bridge Anchorage

Bay City News Service (via CBS News Bay Area) reports, the park, named the Judge John Sutter Regional Shoreline, is located along the eastern anchorage of the bridge. It includes a public observation pier (which rests on six piers of the old Bay Bridge), a 24,000-square-foot event facility converted from a train maintenance building, walking paths and a connection to the bridge’s bicycle-pedestrian trail.

The Metropolitan Transportation notes that the park was created through the collaboration of nine municipal, transportation and conservation agencies, including the Bay Area Toll Authority, Caltrans, the California Transportation Commission, Association of Bay Area Governments and the East Bay Regional Park District, which operates the park.
