Prospects for a Michigan Toll Feasibility Study Look Good

MLive.com takes a detailed look at Michigan’s exploration of tolling as a means to fund infrastructure improvements. The article notes that a bill (SB 517) recently reported to the floor of the State Senate “would task [Michigan DOT] with hiring a consulting firm putting together a tolling feasibility study and strategic implementation plan. . . .” According to the article, MDOT supports the bill, Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) is open to discussing tolls, and the Republican chair of the Senate Transportation Committee says there hasn’t been much pushback on the proposal to conduct a study.

FTE and Areas Provide "Free Coffee Safety Breaks" over Thanksgiving Holiday

Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise announced that it will offer Thanksgiving holiday travelers “Free Coffee Safety Breaks” during peak traffic periods today and next Sunday, December 1. Drivers can “take a safety break and enjoy a complimentary pick-me-up” at several service plazas thanks to a partnership between the turnpike and travel services vendor Areas.
