Changes to VDOT I-66 Tolling Could Impact Funding of Other Regional Projects

Potomac Local reports, “A state official warns any changes to toll collection on Interstate 66 inside the Capital Beltway could force changes to the highway improvement project taking place outside the ring road.” The article explains VDOT’s position that a $579 million grant given by I-66 Express Mobility Partners, and the outside-the-beltway toll lanes project itself, are predicated on VDOT maintaining current toll collection rules on I-66 inside the beltway.
