ARTBA Outlines Its Priorities In Meeting With Biden Transition Rep

ARTBA Newsline reports, the ARTBA executive committee met last week with Caltrans director Toks Omishakin, a key member of President Biden’s transition team, to explain the organization’s immediate transportation policy priorities. Committee members “emphasized the need for quick action on a long-term, sustainable surface transportation reauthorization bill by Sept. 30, and the imperative of building on reforms that have accelerated the project delivery and environmental approval process.” Omishakin stated that funding reauthorization, climate concerns, job creation through increased infrastructure investment, safety and tackling the backlog in transportation system maintenance were all items on the new president’s agenda.
