Italy's Anas Wins Russian Toll Road Construction Contract

“Global Construction Review” reports, Russia chose Anas, an Italian state-controlled contractor, to collaborate with Avtodor, the Russian state infrastructure and highway service company, on construction of a new 729-kilometer (453-mile) toll road between Moscow and Kazan. “The deal was reached after a meeting between Russian president Vladimir Putin and Italian prime minister Giuseppe Conte.” The estimated $8.6 billion project, which is already headed toward a 2024 conclusion, is reportedly part of Russia’s $96 billion transportation infrastructure modernization program.

FASTag Users Continue to Complain about India's AET Conversion

The Indian Express investigates drivers’ complaints about “technical glitches” in the all-electronic FASTag toll system that India’s national highways authority introduced last month. According to the newspaper, commuters say “they end up paying the toll fee twice, have to spend more time in the queues and wonder if their bank accounts linked with FASTags will be safe.”
