Kansas Turnpike Awards Contracts for Paving and Bridge Work
The Kansas Turnpike Authority has awarded contracts for two new construction projects. Bettis Asphalt & Construction of Topeka successfully bid $6,884,279 to begin resurfacing pavement on more then 13 miles of I-70 beginning in March 2020. A.M. Cohron & Son of Atlantic, Iowa, will be paid $2,639,760 to redeck and widen the north and south turnpike bridges on I-335 at mile marker 143.1.

The latest edition of CTRMA’s “Expressway News” includes information on the “habitual violator” detection and payment enforcement program that the metro Austin authority has designed “to improve customer service for the loyal, law-abiding customers that use our roads and pay their bills.” Another newsletter article reports on the successful performance of the wrong-way-driver intelligent warning system CTRMA installed on Toll 45SW last June.
