MDTA Hosts Chesapeake Bay Crossing Discussions This Week

Capital Gazette (via The Baltimore Sun) reports on the status of the Maryland Transportation Authority’s Bay Crossing Study project. The agency’s Tier 1 NEPA Study is undergoing public review and comment this week during live meetings in Annapolis and on Kent Island, communities near the existing Chesapeake Bay Bridge spans. Recent virtual meetings have reportedly inspired little public feedback.

Bestpass Organizes Support For Community Efforts To End Hunger

Bestpass, the provider of toll management solutions for truckers and fleet operators, has an employee-led committee that identifies “opportunities to contribute to the community in a meaningful way while also building relationships across functional teams.” A news releases notes that the committee’s recent focus on food assistance led employees to spend an afternoon preparing more than 500 meals for a local charity that serves at-risk and in-need individuals. Bestpass staff also volunteered several times to to sort food donations at a regional foodbank. They are now planning a June fundraiser in partnership with the American Diabetes Association.
