Notice of Intent
NEXT GENERATION TOLL SYSTEM RFP

The E-470 Public Highway Authority (the “Authority”), Aurora, Colorado, intends to issue an RFP for a Next Generation Toll System for technology to replace its current, and future, lane, and plaza all-electronic tolling systems. The Authority operates all electronic tolling on various toll roads and express/managed lanes in the Denver metropolitan region.

The scope may include providing new technology, and reusing existing equipment where possible, to create a new lane and plaza roadside toll system which will interface to the existing back office systems. This may include design, testing, installation, and maintenance services. The contract duration is expected to be 5 years, with the potential for multiple 1-year extensions thereafter.

The intended schedule is:

  • November 2017 – Draft RFP available for industry comments
  • March 2018 – Issue request for qualifications
  • April 2018 – Shortlist qualified respondents
  • May 2018 – Submit proposal and Vendor demonstrations of system
  • July 2018 – Select vendor
