Advanced Notice of Anticipated Request for Proposal

The Richmond Metropolitan Transportation Authority (RMTA) is posting this advance notice in anticipation of advertising a Request for Proposals (RFP) within 14 days that will be available at the RMTA website www.rmtaonline.org/news-events/# and on www.eva.virginia.gov.

The intent of the RFP is to invite all toll systems integrators having specific minimum qualifications to submit a proposal to replace RMTA’s present Open Road Tolling (ORT) systems at the Downtown Expressway and Powhite Parkway along with system maintenance services. RMTA seeks a solution that is based on an existing production system and therefore anticipates minimal customization.

RMTA further anticipates hosting a mandatory, in-person pre-proposal conference and site visit, the dates and details of which will be included within the RFP.

RMTA’s procurement practices impose restrictions on when and how firms interact with the RMTA related to this matter and, to prevent inadvertent preclusion or disqualification, firms are specifically requested to refrain from contacting the RMTA regarding this matter until after the actual RFP is advertised.

This notice is provided for informational purposes only. The information set forth in this notice is preliminary and subject to change in all respects. RMTA may change or cancel the plans outlined here at any time and will not be liable for or reimburse any firm for expenses they may choose to incur as a result of this notice.
