Kansas Turnpike's ORT-Lane Construction Program Approaches Another Milestone

October’s Turnpike Times (the Kansas Turnpike’s monthly newsletter) reports that Southern Terminal will soon be the third plaza to have open-road-toll lanes. According to its monthly construction update, KTA expects the new lanes to be fully functional in mid- to late-November. The authority has created and posted a video to explain how and why it is constructing “highway speed electronic lanes.”

NJ Governor Promises to Discuss Carpool Discount Elimination with PANYNJ Chief

CBS News New York follows up on its recent report that New Jersey Governor Phil Murphy (D) disagrees with the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s decision to phase out a discount toll rate for carpools. CBS is pushing the governor to “talk with Port Authority Executive Director Rick Cotton about the agency’s controversial plans to cancel the discount at the George Washington Bridge, Lincoln, and Holland tunnels.”
