PANYNJ Opens New Goethals Bridge Pedestrian and Bike Path

SILive.com reports, the port authority is opening a new shared-use path for pedestrians and bicyclists on the Goethals Bridge this morning. The article notes, “The 10-foot-wide walkway/bikeway, located along the northern edge of the New Jersey-bound span, will offer not only a scenic view for pedestrians and bicyclists, but also another commuting option for Staten Island and New Jersey residents.” SILive adds that today’s opening was made possible by an inter-agency collaboration to create safe connections between the path and roads on both ends of the bridge.
