CDC Warns All NY, NJ and CT Residents to Refrain from Non-Essential Travel

Reuters (via The New York Times) reports, “The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on Saturday warned residents of New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut against non-essential domestic travel for 14 days. In a travel advisory posted on its website, the agency said the warning did not apply to employees of ‘critical infrastructure industries’ including trucking, public health, financial services, and food supply professionals.” (Link inserted by TRN.)

Maryland Temporarily Suspends Mailing of Bills and Assessment of Penalties

The Maryland Transportation Authority announced Friday that it has has paused mailing Notices of Toll Due and assessing civil penalties on unpaid notices until 30 days after Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency is lifted. It also halted referrals of unpaid tolling accounts to its collections unit and the motor vehicle registration agency. MDTA said all of its E-ZPass Customer Service Centers are closed until further notice. It is making accommodations for customers who use the state’s E-ZPass Discount Plans.
