Illinois Tollway Seeks Firms For Planning, Design And Construction Management Services Contracts

The Illinois Tollway Authority announced today it is “seeking professional engineering firms to provide planning, design and construction management services for six new contracts anticipated to be awarded in late 2024. The contracts will provide for an estimated $22 million in work as part of the Tollway’s 16-year, $15 billion Move Illinois capital program. Firms interested in submitting Statements of Interest as prime consultants or participating on contracts as subconsultants are invited to attend an optional pre-proposal meeting” on the afternoon of June 24, in suburban Chicago. (Online registration is available.) The announcement includes a list of the proposed contracts, which are described in detail in Professional Services Bulletin PSB 24-2. “Submissions are due by 4:30 p.m. on July 12, 2024, with contracts expected to be awarded by the [Tollway board] in late 2024, with work expected to begin in 2025.”

Rhode Island Senate Approves Giving Toll Scofflaws Additional Notice And Time To Avoid Penalties

What’s Up Newp reports, the Rhode Island Senate yesterday approved and sent to the House a bill that would change Rhode Island Turnpike and Bridge Authority (RITBA) procedures for enforcing toll payment. If enacted, SB 2453 would extend existing deadlines for paying an overdue toll before incurring penalties. It would also require RITBA “to send a notice to violators via email informing them that their driver’s license and vehicle registration may be in jeopardy for failing to pay tolls before reporting those violations to the Rhode Island Division of Motor Vehicles.” The bill passed on a vote of  34 to 0 (with three senators not voting).
