Riverside County Accepts Kapsch's End-To-End Express Lanes Tolling System
Kapsch TrafficCom announced that the Riverside County (California) Transportation Commission (RCTC) recently certified final acceptance of the comprehensive, open-road tolling system Kapsch delivered for the commission’s network of I-15 and SR-91 express lanes. The announcement notes that Kapsch equipped eight toll points on the I-15 Express Lanes and four on the SR-91 Express Lanes. It also also delivered 15 roadside variable message signs, 27 CCTV cameras for enforcement, and 39 microwave vehicle detectors. Kapsch’s solution “includes the 15 Express Lanes back-office system, dynamic pricing, image review, a customer contact center, and collections enforcement. Kapsch also provides the operations and maintenance functions for the express lanes and staffs and operates the traffic operations center and customer service center.” RCTC’s certification signifies that Kapsch met all performance and contractual requirements and will continue to operate and maintain the toll system over the next five years. The firm is inviting attendees of IBTTA’s upcoming annual meeting and exhibition to visit the Kapsch booth (413-415) to learn more about the RCTC project. The Tampa Hillsborough Expressway Authority (THEA) announced that its board has reelected businessman Vincent J. Cassidy as chairman. The board also gave new terms to its vice chair, Bennett Barrow, an investment advisor, and to its secretary, Daniel Alvarez, a lawyer.
