Maine Turnpike Connector Project Agreement Gets Town's Approval
Portland Press Herald reports, last week, the Scarborough Town Council authorized the town manager to sign a revised memorandum of agreement regarding the proposed $220-million Gorham Connector project. The MOA, to which the Maine Turnpike Authority (MTA), Maine DOT and the municipalities of Gorham, Scarborough, South Portland and Westbrook are signatories, incorporates modifications recommended by municipal officials during recent MTA briefings on the project.

Washington Business Journal reports, completion of the Washington Metro Area Transit Authority’s Silver Line extension won’t take place until at least early spring. That’s another setback for a project that is notoriously overdue and over budget because of structural and materials problems. The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, which is managing construction of the line and partially funding it with Dulles Toll road revenue, says the project remains within its current, $2.778 billion budget.
