WVNS reports, the West Virginia Parkways Authority, operator of the state’s turnpike, decided to award Paramount Builders, LLC, a $122.8 million contract for demolition and renovation of the the Beckley and Bluestone travel plazas. Paramount is a West Virginia-based business. Contract execution is expected to occur within the next two weeks, and the start of demolition within the next month.
A West Virginia DOT news release has more information about the scope of the ambitious rehabilitation project, which was first announced in November.
Last August, the authority announced its selection of Areas US to lease and operate all three travel plazas.
