Illinois Tollway Receives Awards For Construction And Conservation Projects

The Illinois Tollway Authority recently picked up the 2022 Project of the Year Award it received from the Construction Industry Service Corporation (CISCO) for the Tri-State Tollway (I-294)/I-57 Interchange Project. CISCO, a non-profit that “brings union construction labor and management representatives together to work cooperatively to better the construction industry,” confers annual “Pride in Construction Awards” to union projects in five categories. The Tollway received the top award in the infrastructure category.

Last week, the Forest Preserve District of Will County, Illinois, presented its 2022 “Appreciation for Partners” award to the Tollway Authority. Every year the district singles out one organization for supporting its mission to protect and enhance Will County’s natural and cultural resources. This year it recognized the authority “for its longstanding support and advocacy for development of the Veterans Memorial Trail, a more than 3.5-mile multi-use trail that runs parallel to the Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355).” The trail is one of several conservation projects on which the authority and the preservation district have collaborated.
