Small Plane Crashes Attempting Emergency Landing On Houston Tollway

KHOU reports, the pilot of a small plane crashed on Houston’s Grand Parkway yesterday morning after attempting to make an emergency landing due to power loss. Although no injuries were reported, the plane struck the top of a passing commercial truck and then caught fire on the ground. “Officials said the wings of the aircraft were a little wider than the roadway and the fire started when the wings rubbed against the concrete [lane] barriers.” The National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration are investigating the crash.
