Shailen Bhatt Confirmed As FHWA Administrator

USDOT announced that the US Senate confirmed Shailen Bhatt’s appointment as administrator of the Federal Highway Administration on December 8. Transportation secretary Pete Buttigieg commented, “[Bhatt’s] leadership will be a tremendous asset as we continue to implement the largest investment in our nation’s roads, bridges and highways in a generation, and we are thrilled to have him on our team.” Bhatt served as an FHWA associate administrator during the Obama administration. At the time of his confirmation, he was a senior vice president at AECOM. His prior experience includes leadership of the Colorado and Delaware Departments of Transportation, and the Intelligent Transportation Society of America.
