WAVY reports, annual registration opened yesterday for the Elizabeth River Tunnels (ERT) and Virginia DOT Toll Relief Program, which applies credits to the E-ZPass accounts of eligible low-income drivers who use the tunnels. This year, applications will be accepted from all Hampton Roads residents, not just people living in two of the region’s cities, and the annual-income eligibility limit has risen from $30,000 to $50,000. ERT will provide $3.3 million in funding for the program in 2023.
