Nuria Fernandez Confirmed As Federal Transit Administration Chief

AASHTO Journal reports, the US Senate confirmed the president’s appointment of Nuria Fernandez to the post of administrator of the Federal Transit Administration. She has been serving as FTA’s acting administrator since January. “Fernandez previously served as the general manager and CEO of the Santa Clara Valley Transportation Authority, along with stints as chief operating officer of the New York Metropolitan Transportation Authority and senior vice president of design and construction for the Chicago Transit Authority and the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority, consecutively. Fernandez is also the immediate past chair of the American Public Transportation Association.”
