KTRK reports, Houston TranStar, the regional transportation management partnership, has launched a campaign, “It’s Only a White Line,” to prevent the death or injury of motorists stranded on freeways. The program emphasizes getting disabled cars and their occupants off the highway as quickly as possible. “We can prevent these tragedies by quickly moving stopped vehicles off the roadway and following Texas’ Move Over or Slow Down Law,” said Dinah Massie, TranStar’s executive director. “We must also educate people about the dangers of getting out of the car, changing a tire or trying to cross the freeway on foot.”
