Governors Hogan And Whitmer Will Testify About Transportation Infrastructure

The Baltimore Sun reports, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan (R) and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer (D) are scheduled to testify before the US Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works tomorrow at a hearing titled, “Building Back Better: Investing in Transportation while Addressing Climate Change, Improving Equity, and Fostering Economic Growth and Innovation.” Hogan is expected to discuss his signature infrastructure initiative, including the I-495 and I-270 express lanes project. The article suggests that public-private partnerships will come up for discussion, since Hogan has resorted to that model of financing for his most ambitious projects.

According to the committee’s agenda, New Hampshire DOT chief Victoria Sheehan will also testify in her capacity as AASHTO president.
