ASCE Analyzes Costs And Risks Of US Infrastructure Neglect

The Hill reports, “America’s infrastructure gap has reached to $5.6 trillion, according to the trade group American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE). The group said the gap is a problem that, unaddressed, could lead to the loss of 3 million jobs over two decades,” as well as gross domestic product losses, business productivity drops, and trade deficit increases. The gap in surface transportation investment alone grew by $100 billion over the past four years, according to ASCE.

Those findings and more are contained in an economic analysis report, “Failure to Act: Economic Impacts of Status Quo Investment Across Infrastructure Systems,”  released Tuesday by ASCE.
