Pennsylvania Turnpike Launches $117 Million Widening Project Today

Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports, “The Penn­syl­va­nia Turn­pike will be­gin work [today] on a 7.5-mile, $117 mil­lion proj­ect to widen more than 7 miles of the toll road in Somer­set County from two lanes in each di­rec­tion to three. The proj­ect, which has New En­ter­prise Stone and Lime Co. as the lead con­trac­tor, also will in­clude straight­en­ing two sec­tions of the high­way to pro­vide bet­ter sight lines for mo­tor­ists.”
