A Tough Weekend for First Responders on the PA and NJ Turnpikes

PennLive.com reports, “A nearly 20-mile chase that began on the Pennsylvania Turnpike in Cumberland County ended with two state police cruisers being wrecked and a reportedly suicidal man under arrest.” No one was injured in the incident, which resulted in the driver being arrested and committed to a hospital for mental health observation.

News 12 New Jersey reports, a tractor-trailer hauling produce fell from a turnpike overpass at an  exit ramp in Carteret and burst into flames. The local fire chief said more than 30 firefighters from several departments responded to the intense two-alarm fire. (No injuries are mentioned in the article.)
