Op-Ed Predicts Success for Maryland Toll Lanes Projects

The Baltimore Sun posts an op-ed column by The Traffic Group’s Wes Guckert endorsing the  recently approved Maryland plan for constructing managed express lanes around Washington, DC. Guckert cites data on Northern Virginia’s I-95 HOT lane and congestion pricing facilities as evidence that Maryland commuters — both toll lane and general purpose lane motorists — will see benefits from similar developments on I-270 and I-495.

Meanwhile, “Land Line” Magazine reports that opposition to the P3 toll lanes plan continues in two suburban DC counties that Governor Larry Hogan claims will benefit from traffic congestion reductions.
