Hereford Times reports, Maggie Taylor and Grahame Penny (who’s had some recent health problems) are retiring and selling the historic Whitney Toll Bridge over England’s River Wye, toll rate £1 for unlimited daily crossings. Maggie tells the newspaper, “It is so busy now. We have developed the business. It needs someone with a bit more energy to now take it forward.” The bridge itself comes with tax-free status (conferred by 1774 and 1794 Acts of Parliament), an equally historic toll house, gardens, grounds (ideal for camping and launching boats), and “double bank fishing rights.”
