The Herald reports, “A new shoulder lane helped speed the evening commute on I-405 in its first week. . . . [WSDOT] on April 24 opened up 1.8 miles of the right-hand shoulder, from Highway 527 to the I-5 interchange. Drivers can use the shoulder when [remotely controlled] electronic signs indicate it’s OK.”
