KLTV reports, “Many say they won’t drive on [Toll 49] because of safety concerns. 13 people have died on the road since it opened in 2013. [North East Texas Regional Mobility Authority], the company that manages Toll 49 in Smith County, has seen a drop in revenue and traffic in recent months. Could there be a correlation? We spoke with a NET RMA official who says they’re doing their best to increase safety.”
