The Tuscaloosa News reports that city council president Harrison Taylor wants the county and state to help the city purchase the privately owned Tuscaloosa By-Pass toll bridge and make it toll-free. “Taylor believes doing so would open Joe Mallisham Parkway to new projects, from restaurants to hotels,” the newspaper reports.
