Canadian Experts Ponder Private-Sector Investment in Infrastructure

The Globe and Mail reports, “Canadians need to be sold on the economic benefits of private-sector investment in infrastructure – and the fees and tolls that may come with that, the chair of the federal government’s council on growth says.

The Globe and Mail also reports, “The head of Canada Pension Plan Investment Board [CPPIB] is taking a cautious approach to infrastructure investments in Canada as it retools its portfolio to manage the challenging investment environment.” CPPIB officials spoke to a parliamentary finance committee earlier this week about the organization’s investment strategy and the proposal for a national infrastructure bank.
