NBC News San Francisco Bay Area reports that Caltrans is closing two westbound lanes of the fifty-year-old San Mateo-Hayward toll bridge over five successive nights to repair permanently a hole discovered in the bridge deck last month. KTVU News reports that the bay was visible through the three-foot hole before it was temporarily patched.
