Cashless Conversion Of Oklahoma's Cimarron Turnpike Begins
KOKH reports, the Oklahoma Turnpike Authority (OTA) announced that it has started implementing cashless toll collection on the Cimarron Turnpike (US 412). This week’s transition of the segment between Stillwater and Tulsa is expected to help alleviate traffic bound for tomorrow’s opening game of the Oklahoma State University football season. “The remaining turnpike toll plazas at US-64, US-177 and the Stillwater Spur are expected to convert to PlatePay come the end of the year.” OTA aims to implement all-electronic tolling across its entire network by the end of 2024.

CBS News Los Angeles, in a brief report on changes in commuting patterns since the onset of COVD-19, notes that “Monday and Friday are the most popular days to work remotely, which means more people are on the road on the other days of the week.” A traffic reporter for KNX Radio comments that yesterday’s traffic conditions were “outrageous,” and drivers who contacted him said the I-110 and SR 91 tolled express lanes “were moving slowly and everyone is paying for it.”
