Windsor Star reports, “Even though it is still in the final bidding stage to find [a] contractor, the Gordie Howe International Bridge project has been named the winner of a 2017 Engineering Project of the Year award. The award was presented [March 2] as part of the CG/LA’s Project of the Year Awards at the 10th Global Infrastructure Leadership Forum in Montreal.”
The award comes as CTV News reports, “Pedestrians and cyclists will be able to use the new cross-border Gordie Howe International Bridge. . . . The announcement of a ‘dedicated multi-use path’ for cyclists and pedestrians was made Wednesday [March 1] during a news event at Bike Windsor-Essex.”
