POLITICO reports, congressional leaders are under pressure to reach agreement on a continuing resolution (CR) to keep government agencies funded past Friday, December 20, and through March. “Since the funding measure is expected to be the last major bill Congress passes this year, lawmakers have been eyeing it as a path to clearing several other major policy priorities. . . .” A disagreement over agriculture funding is currently the major obstacle to an agreement on the text of a resolution.
WTOP reports, the CR is “likely” to include billions of dollars in disaster aid for the states that were affected by this fall’s hurricanes, as well as funding for the replacement of the Maryland’s collapsed Francis Scott Key toll bridge.
