Proposed Amendments To Florida’s Toll Rate Table Get Public Hearing On Thursday

Florida’s Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) and FDOT will hold the December 12 public hearing to air proposed amendments to their rule (Fla. Admin. Code R. 15.0081 (2022)) regarding the statewide toll rate table. The proposed amendments, effective February 25, 2025, would, if adopted:

  • reclassify three facilities as part of the FTE system;
  • remove references to cash rates for facilities that have converted to all-electronic tolling;
  • reflect the establishment or elimination of toll plazas across FDOT and FTE systems;
  • adjust toll rates at two plazas; and
  • update the names of three toll plazas.

Register here for the virtual hearing, scheduled for Thursday evening from 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM (EST). The hearing also will be simulcast at six locations throughout the state.

Expanding NC Quick Pass Purchase Options Permit One Service Center Closure

North Carolina DOT announced that its NC Quick Pass customer service center in Morrisville will close on January 31, 2025. This will leave two service centers in operation, in Charlotte and Monroe. The news was accompanied by an announcement that NC Quick Pass sticker transponders now will be available for $3.00 through Amazon and at five 7-Eleven locations in the state. The stickers must be activated online before use.

The announcement noted, “With the number of in-person services and partnerships growing and customer preferences increasingly shifting to digital services, the need for physical NC Quick Pass locations has decreased.” Toll invoices can be paid in-person at three license plate agencies in the Raleigh area, or through MoneyGram at CVS and Walmart stores, as well as at the remaining customer service centers.
