The Kansas Turnpike Authority (KTA) announced yesterday that it has selected TransCore to implement its new roadside toll collection program that includes a conversion to cashless tolling in 2024. Bruce Meisch, KTA’s information technology director and Cashless Tolling Project manager, stated, “This is a very significant milestone. . . . A new roadside toll collection program is the next step to move forward with our conversion.” TransCore vice president Jon Cloutier said the firm “is excited to continue supporting our long-term partner, the Kansas Turnpike Authority, on this important modernization project.” Preliminary work on the new toll collection system got underway last week, KTA noted.
