Florida DOT Reopens Corroded US 1 Span
WPTV reports, “The Roosevelt Bridge in Stuart [Florida] reopened to traffic Saturday morning,” with two lanes of travel in each direction. FDOT “has placed a 5-ton weight restriction for all vehicular traffic crossing the bridge, which was shut down earlier this month after chunks of concrete fell from the underside [of one span]. Law enforcement is monitoring both ends of the bridge.” FDOT tells WPTV it is engaged in a six-week process of designing a permanent bridge repair, “after which a contractor will be selected to make the repairs.”
